No injuries reported in school bus accident

Pittsburg ISD officials continue to breathe a sigh of relief after a recent wreck involving a school bus.

   According to Pittsburg Police Department reports, the accident occurred at around 4:30 p.m. April 15 at the intersection of Hickory and Ash streets inside city limits.

   The bus, occupied with 24 children and a driver, was reportedly not moving at the time the collision occurred and was in the proper lane. The other vehicle an SUV, was driven by a female driver. All involved received immediate medical attention by the Camp County EMS with no additional need for transport. All students and staff were later released to Pittsburg ISD administration.

   “We’re just thankful no one was injured in the accident,” said Kenneth Shelton, the district’s Director of Transportation for the past two years of his 10-year tenure.
