The Dec. 27 meeting of the Morris County Commissioner’s Court was the last one for three county employees who retired at the end of 2018. The trio was honored for their combined nearly 50 years of service by State Representative Cole Hefner with certificates for time served. Retiring were County Judge Lynda Munkres, Precinct 2 County Commissioner Weldon Lilley and County Treasurer Nita Beth Traylor.
As of Jan. 1, Doug Reeder takes the reins as Morris County Judge. Kerry McCoy will serve as Precinct 2 County Commissioner and Molly Cummings is the new County Treasurer.
In other business, the commissioners approved entering into the minutes the district judge’s order for Shana Solomon’s auditor appointment. Payroll was approved and a few bills were paid.
The commissioners approved the purchase of a refurbished copier for the district clerk’s office.
