After seven years as a Rebel, Lance Connot is now a Bear—a Brownsboro Bear that is.
The Brownsboro ISD Board of Trustees voted Feb. 8 to hire Connot to serve as its next Athletic Director and Head Football Coach. Connot previously served in the same position at 2A Division 1 Rivercrest ISD. During the course of his seven-year tenure, Connot had an overall 53-26 record and helped lead the Rebels to the regional semifinals twice. In 2017, the Rivercest football team finished the season 12-1 and have appeared in playoff action for the past six years.
In an announcement statement released online Feb. 9, Superintendent Dr. Keri Hampton praised Connot for his 12 years of previous coaching experience.
“We are tremendously excited to have Coach Connot join the Brownsboro ISD team and lead our athletic department,” Dr. Hampton said. “Lance has a strong record of success and I believe that his positive attitude, commitment to excellence, leadership skills, and focus on all athletic programs makes him an excellent fit for Brownsboro ISD. With a proven record of playoff appearances and building a comprehensive athletic program, BISD is looking forward to the opportunity for Connot to work alongside students, staff, parents and community of Brownsboro ISD.”
Connot will be joined by wife, Laura, and children Kynli and Kellan at the 4A Division II school district.
