Authorities release names of adults involved in tragic crash

While the investigation continues, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officials have just identified the adult victims involved in yesterday’s deadly crash on Interstate Highway 30 at mile marker 162 in Mount Pleasant.

According to DPS officials, Wanda Gebhart, a 64-year-old female from Pikeville, Tennessee, was pronounced dead at the scene in the Friday morning wreck. Gebhart was driving a 2018 International Truck-Tractor Semi-Trailer (TT-ST), one of five vehicles involved in the March 23 crash.

The first vehicle to be struck by Gebhart, a 2011 Toyota Sienna, was occupied by a family of five. The driver of the minivan, Jeffery Brokish, 42, was later air flighted to Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler and is listed in stable but critical condition. His wife Jessica Brokish, 41, and two sons, ages nine and six, as well as a two-year-old daughter, were all tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

The third vehicle struck, a 2016 Freightliner TT-ST, included driver Carlos Vela Martinez, 42, and passenger Juan Martinez, 20. Both men, from San Jose Santillio, Mexico, were transported with minor injuries to Titus Regional Medical Center (TRMC).

The fourth vehicle struck, a 2007 Volvo TT-ST, was driven by Ravshan Sayfetdin Ibragim, a 43-year-old male from Dayton, OH. He was also transported with minor injuries to TRMC.

The fifth vehicle struck, a 2015 Volvo TT-ST driven by Abdul Rahman Al-Shaibani, a 53-year-old male from Stanwood, WA was also transported with minor injuries to TRMC.
