Graveside services for philanthropist and community leader Patty Redding Pilgrim, 80, of Pittsburg, were held Saturday, Oct. 13.
Mrs. Pilgrim was born April 21, 1938 in Leesburg to Clayton Wayne Redding and Allie Lawrence Redding and died Oct. 11, 2018 in Pittsburg. Mrs. Pilgrim was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg, member of the 20th Century Club and taught the GA’s mission program.
Mrs. Pilgrim will be forever remembered by her sons and daughters-in-law:Ken and Donna Pilgrim of Pittsburg and Pat and Anne Pilgrim of Lake Creek; daughter and son-in-law: Greta and Bill Henson of Dallas; six grandchildren: Clayton Pilgrim, Jake Pilgrim, Lonnie Pilgrim, Greta Gail Simpson, Chesley Hindman and Shelby Owens; five great grandchildren: Kate, Emily, Gracie Hindman, Caroline Pilgrim and Thomas Simpson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, poultry producer and bank executive Lonnie “Bo” Pilgrim; parents, Clayton Wayne Redding and Allie Lawrence Redding; sisters: Peggy Miskotten and Dorothy Russell.
Visitation with the family will be held between 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church. Following the visitation, family and friends are invited to attend the graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie Pilgrim, Clayton Pilgrim, Jake Pilgrim, Wes Hindman and William Simpson. Honorary pallbearers will be Ross Henderson, Neal Oquinn, Joe Cavender, Mike Cavender, Clay Cavender, and Hal Pilgrim.
