The Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club recently gave $500 to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation. The funds will be used to provide a scholarship for a fine arts student at NTCC. The group has been contributing to scholarships for more than 25 years.
The Foundation is currently accepting scholarship applications for the 2018-2019 academic year. Applications are available online at www.ntcc.edu/scholarships or can be picked up from Lori Hunter’s office in the Student Services Center (former Administration Building). The priority deadline for scholarships is March 19, 2018. NTCC scholarships, like the one given by the Mount Pleasant Fire Arts Club, are competitive and vary in amounts. They are funded by donations from companies, civic/non-profit organizations and individuals.
“We encourage students who plan to attend NTCC in the fall to apply for a Foundation Scholarship. These funds are specifically designated to help our students succeed by easing the financial burden of paying for college,” Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Vice President for Advancement, said.
