The Mount Pleasant Police Department (MPPD) recently Jaceon Martin, 23, of Mount Pleasant for a series of commercial burglaries that occurred in January. During the burglaries, the suspect was video recorded inside a local business wearing a “Batman” logo hoodie.
With help from a MPPD crime analyst, detectives and patrol officers were provided a predictive analysis to locate the suspect. Martin was located while officers were monitoring the target area. A patrol officer spotted a suspicious person and made contact with Martin. After his detention and arrest for unrelated offenses, evidence discovered later led to a search warrant at 326 Martin Luther King Blvd.
“An analytic review does not always pay off but in this situation it did,” Mount Pleasant Police Chief Wayne Isbell said. “Our analyst was spot-on which helped get the suspect.”
Martin was booked into the Titus County Jail on a total of five counts of burglary of a building, each is a state jail felony. His bond was set at $15,000 on each of the four counts and $5,000 on the fifth offense.
