Titus Regional Medical Center recently honored Martha Edwards, RN, by presenting her with the 2018 Lifetime Achievement in Healthcare Award. Edwards, joined by members of her extended family, received the award during the annual Grand Gala fundraising event held Sept. 15 at the Mount Pleasant Civic Center. Funds received with be used to help renovate the Labor and Delivery floor at TRMC. The $200,000 project is expected to begin in January 2019.
Edwards, who served as the Chief Nursing Officer for many years at TRMC, most recently worked as a House Supervisor until her retirement. For over 30 years, Mrs. Edwards has played an impactful role in the growth and success of TRMC.
“Martha has served as an RN for over 30 years,” said Carol Slider, Chief Nursing Officer at TRMC. “She has been a coach, mentor, educator, role model, leader, hand-holder, warm touch and a friend to many of her peers and community members. Her dedication and compassion to her profession has earned her the love and respect of the medical community. No one is more deserving of this award.”
